We owned a gas station in E. Pittsford in 1947+
Loved watching this since my parents owned a combination store/gas station/diner in East Pittsford. Unfortunately, one day I fell and cut myself and my

mom rushed me to Rutland since it was a serious injury. When we returned, my dad was in the road, waving to my mom to stop. He had to tell her that the business was destroyed by a fire. I understand that there was a pond across the road and my dad rented out boats. Watching this film and seeing a gas station (probably not my dad's) made me realize how independent Vermonters truly were/are. My parents were Helen and Philip Garofano. They had to start all over again. Everything was lost to the fire, especially wedding and baby pictures. We moved to Rutland and my parents raised seven children. I became a teacher, so the push for hot meals at the school was impressive; many schools today do not have such a service. Just a wonderful look back at the days when my parents lived among those magnificent hard working people. Jane Garofano Curran
